Being Neighborly
Summer is drawing to a close and here at C&G, we’ve had a great one. Our business is reflecting the optimism of the market place and the continued recognition of our brands. We’re up 59 percent in advertising revenues–one of the highest increases in the publishing industry! ■ We’re feverishly working on our new website, which we plan to unveil at the end of this month. It’s all a bit hush-hush right now, but suffice it to say, we’re very excited and look forward to serving you with more frequent web updates, dynamic content, behind the scenes video and features to complement what you already love in the magazine. If you’d like to be notified by email when the site goes live, please sign up at ctcandg.com/ newsite. ■ As a resident of Silvermine, I have been privy to the enor- mous amount of preparations going on for the fourth annual Historic Silvermine House Tour on September 25. Spearheaded by the Norwalk Association of Silvermine Homeowners (NASH) and the Silvermine Community Association (SCA), it’s delightful to see people from three towns creating a sense of community. Everyone is involved! ■ The magical Silvermine area is made up of parts of New Canaan, Wilton and Norwalk. There will be historic houses from all three towns, including the Samuel Buttery House, the Mary A. Boyle House, the Hyatt-Guthrie Barn, the Forster-inspired Moss House and the Johnny Gruelle House, as well as the Lower Silvermine Cemetery, which is a virtual Hollywood of prominent artists and merchants from 1850 through the 1920s. ■ Lunch, catered by the Silvermine Market, will be available at the Silvermine Guild Arts Center, and small buses will make stops at all the houses, although many of them are within walking distance of one another. Go to our Agenda on page 44 for all the details.
See you there!
