Another year, Another Super Saturday: For the past 15 years, this special shopping event has benefited the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund. It’s held at the end of July on what always seems to be the hottest day of the year but no event in the Hamptons has ever been cooler. ■ The Hamptons Cottages & Gardens booth, which we share with Kravet fabrics, is an island of home design in a sea of fabulous fashion booths. This year, we will be offering original artwork plus luxury items from such top brands as Kim Seybert, Michael Aram, Waterworks, Diane James, Room & Board, and much more. ■ Throughout the many years that we have had our own “garage” at Super Saturday, we’ve observed how many of our fashion neighbors have branched into home furnishings. For example, Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein have been joined by fashion giants Hermès, Donna Karan, Diane von Furstenberg, and now Marchesa and Kate Spade for Lenox. The evolution into home furnishings is a natural one, as fashion designers extend their influence from making our clothes to decorating our homes. We know for a fact that our readers, so passionate about interior design, are also major consumers of fashion and jewelry. So the lines blur as we indulge our love affair with our favorite designers and find ways to change our home decor with the seasons, just as we do with our closets. It’s what’s in fashion!
