Art, Art, Everywhere
During the first two weeks of July, the East End turns into an art lover’s paradise, with something for everyone, whether Lichtensteins and Harings or surfboards and C-prints. This year, the big tents sprang up seemingly overnight as three major fairs took over various locations in Bridgehampton. The opening-night VIP preview parties, with their attendant parking melees, attracted high-spirited crowds of serious buyers, partygoers, and curious onlookers. HC&G sponsored the Market Art + Design fair, where we erected a central lounge, furnished in grand style by Room & Board, that immediately became the meeting point for all who entered. Annie Falk, author of the brand-new book Hamptons Entertaining (see “Summer Sensation,” page 80), and her husband, Michael, stopped by early on opening night, as did former HC&G cover girl Molly Sims and, the following day, Kelly Klein. All attendees were bowled over by the stunning location on Mecox Bay, with most of them hard-pressed to leave HC&G Innovation in Design award-winner West
Chin’s high-style lounge overlooking the water.
