Midsummer Madness

I recently attended the annual ArtHamptons art fair in Bridgehampton, and as usual, it was quite a scene. This year HC&G was delighted to be the exclusive media sponsor of the preview party, with our very own VIP Platinum lounge. The 1,600-square-foot sitting room, fashionably decorated with furniture by Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams, was the go-to relaxation spot for fair-goers suffering from fabulousness overload. Editor in chief Kendell Cronstrom, Publisher Pamela Eldridge and I hosted a couple hundred friends and clients who feasted on Lucy’s Whey cheese platters, Lindt chocolate and Nicolas Feuillatte champagne. The opening preview was attended by 3,000 art lovers, and sales amounted to around $5 million (several of the european galleries sold their entire inventory!). ■ We are looking forward to the Hampton classic horse Show, which runs from August 28 to September 4 and culminates with Grand Prix Sunday. Under the VIP tent, celebrities and politicos—including Kelly Klein, Kelly Ripa, Mayor Michael Bloomberg and former Mayor Rudolph Giuliani will rub shoulders with sponsors while watching the action in the main ring. HC&G will be there at a table festooned with designer fabrics and table settings, and Kendell Cronstrom will judge the show’s wonderful tablescapes, giving all those who create the tables some well-deserved recognition. What fun! See you there!
