It’s that time of the summer when we recognize the best of the best in Hamptons design with the HC&G Innovation in Design Awards. Judging for this year’s competition took place at the Lexington Home Brands showroom at the New York Design Center. Judges Deborah Berke, Sherrill Canet, Kerry Delrose, David Kleinberg, and Scott Sanders had lively discussions and great fun viewing stacks of superb work. ■ Here, we announce the finalists in all five categories: In architecture, the finalists are Granoff Architects, James Michael Howard Inc., Barnes Coy Architects, and West Chin Architect, LLC. In kitchen design, the contenders are Daniel B. Scotti Design & Development, LLC, James Michael Howard Inc., Martin Architects, and Stelle Architects. Bath design finalists include Barnes Coy Architects, Daniel B. Scotti Design & Development, LLC, James Michael Howard Inc., and Stelle Architects. For interior design: Form Architecture + Interiors, James Michael Howard Inc., Susanne Kelley Design, and The Design Studio. In garden design, CWM Horticultural Services, Lear & Mahoney Landscape Associates, R. G. Shuster & Company, and Spaulding Landscape Architects are the finalists. ■ Winners will be announced at this year’s IDAs ceremony, beginning at 5:30 p.m. on July 26 at Guild Hall in East Hampton. For the first time, the IDAs will also honor a local Hamptons builder with its brand-new builder recognition award, chosen by this year’s awards nominees.
