A Packed Calendar

Phew! The last few weeks have seen a whirlwind of events sponsored by Connecticut Cottages & Gardens: the Near & Far Aid House Tour with an opening breakfast and a fascinating lecture by design legend Eric Cohler; the Spring Awakening at Le Beau Chateau to benefit the Summer Theatre of New Canaan; the Greenwich Chapter of the American Red Cross’ Red & White Ball featuring over-the-top tabletops, including our own Phillip Gorrivan–designed extravaganza at The NetJets Hangar at the Westchester County Airport; and über-designer Bunny Williams’ Annual Trade Secrets for the Women’s Support services of Sharon. And finally, the 4th Annual Innovation in Design Awards (IDAs) honoring achievement in interior design, kitchen design, bath design, architecture and landscape design throughout CT and Westchester County, held in the Garden Pavilion at the Stamford Hilton and benefitting buildOn. ■ The fun continues this month: the New Canaan Nature Center’s Secret Garden Tour; the Westport Historical Society’s Hidden Garden Tour; the Darien Historical Society’s Antique and Garden Elements event; the Vines & Vignettes garden experience at Rose Cottage in Black Rock for St. Ann’s School; and finally, the Litchfield County Antiques Show benefitting Greenwoods Counseling Referral Service. But all this fun has a purpose: to raise funds for the sick and needy and, of course, to enrich the community. The generosity of Connecticut knows no bounds, and we are delighted to play our part. ■ There will be more opportunities to give back while having fun as the year goes on, so stay tuned and we’ll let you know when and where.
