Come to the Fair

Meg Wendy has been in the design show business since she was three, eventually running shows with her mother, Diane. I remember spending many hours at the “Wendy” shows at the New York Armory. And it was a thrill to meet her when she was planning a venue outside of New York—a smaller design fair featuring fine quality art, modern antiques and limited-edition furnishings at various price ranges. Enter Mimi Sternlicht, president of the Loading Dock, the ultra-hip industrial space in Stamford, and the show had a home. CTC&G, beloved by it’s readers for bringing it’s pages to life in premier design events, joined in and CTC&G Designing Greenwich was born! ■ The four-day art, interiors and style extravaganza featuring a curated collection of fine art, modern antiques, bespoke rugs and home accessories for everyone to view and buy will take place November 9–12. ■ Hailing from New York to Nantucket, exhibitors will bring a taste of something new and different for all of us to enjoy. I am awed by the fantastic furniture of Andrianna Shamaris and the home-design talents of Foley & Cox, Intérieurs and Home Nature, art from Nantucket Art Cabinet and Puccio Fine Art, new collections from Baccarat, and the hottest Hamptons’ rugs from Custom Cool, to name but a few. Savoir Beds (oh, heaven!) will also be there. All in all, there will be 40 booths and pop-up shops. ■ Top designers and personalities will be giving keynote speeches and signing copies of their books in our Rizzoli library designed by Lillian August—think Vicente Wolf, Clodagh, Amanda Nisbet, Carolyne Roehm and Annie Falk, as well as Alex Papachristidis, Lulu Powers, Janice Parker and Helen Klisser During and more—will keep the weekend informative and fun. A selection of highlights are covered in this issue on page 34 in Spotlight “Not to be Missed!” ■ Friday morning, November 9, the activities kick off with an exclusive Designer Breakfast hosted by Design Chair Tony Ingrao and our own Editorial Director D.J. Carey before the show opens. If you are a designer and have not received an invitation, call us. ■ Come to the fair, meet the nation’s top design celebrities and shop till you drop!
