It’s November,

when everyone’s mind turns to holiday gifts of the large and small variety. Jewelry is one of the most popular gifts that our readers receive during the holidays. And since I always find a couple of things to buy myself while shopping for family and friends, I thought I would look around for you and see what our wonderful stores in the area have to offer. What an embarrassment of riches!Starting in Westport at Mitchells, a fabulous “double” cushion-cut diamond ring by Sylva & Cie called “Moi & Toi” (1) caught my eye as the ultimate romantic gift. Then a quick dash across town to Lux Bond & Green revealed Roberto Coin’s gold bangle bracelets (2) studded with diamonds—a must-have in every size! While on Main Street, I was lured into Faye Kim Designs by a hand-woven bracelet in 22k gold (3)based on an ancient weave pattern.“Double” and “cushion cut” appeared again at Steven Fox Jewelry in Greenwich in an exquisite pair of drop earrings (4) with two antique cushion-cut diamonds per earring that are suspended, one on top of the other, by a platinum chain allowing the irresistible gemstones to move and sparkle. novJust off of the Avenue, at Simon Teakle Fine Jewelry, a museum-worthy bracelet (5) from Paris circa 1925 by Lacloche Frères (well known for luxury objets d’art) features a running flow of cherry blossoms ideally suited for the Art Deco style—a true treasure. Also in Greenwich, an over-the-top maxi ring (6) in yellow gold, rubies and diamonds (from Carrera y Carrera’s Orchid Collection) sparkled at Manfredi Jewels. Oh heaven!I strongly suggest you leave this issue lying around the house, opened to this page as a very subtle hint. Then, be sure to let me know what turns up!
