On June 18, more than 400 people attended the opening gala at Holiday House Hamptons, presented by HC&G. Everyone agreed that this showhouse, the third collaboration between HC&G and Iris Dankner of Holiday House, was the best yet. The spectacular 13,000-square-foot contemporary home overlooking Mecox Bay, transformed by 21 top-notch interior design firms, kept decor lovers enthralled for hours.
But there was more to come. Would the house’s rooftop tennis court be given short shrift? Not by a long shot!
Three days later, the rooftop was positively buzzing as tennis superstar Venus Williams mingled with a group of showhouse designers, sponsors, and the press in her newly revealed V*Starr Interiors lounge. Her courtside space featured outdoor furniture in cool gray and blue tones accented with bright pops of color (she created custom pillows, made from her athletic line EleVen’s new Prism fabric, especially for Holiday House Hamptons). Williams also unveiled a pink tennis dress of her own design, which Holiday House Hamptons will auction off to raise funds for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, the showhouse’s beneficiary. HC&G Publisher Pamela Eldridge raised a glass to the room designers for a job well done and wished Williams success at Wimbledon and at the Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
