The World Is Our Oyster

With so much positive response to last year’s “European Style” issue, we have decided to expand our horizons further and go international, adding this special edition to our permanent roster of seven annual installments of NYC&G. As you can see from our cover, Editor in Chief Kendell Cronstrom has upped the ante and dubbed this year’s issue “Global Style,” and if you happen to be in Paris in January for the Maison et Objet design fair, you’ll find copies of the issue in abundance!

The edition in your hands reflects just how cosmopolitan the design world has become. Everywhere I go, people regale me with stories and design finds from Scotland, Italy, Indonesia, and beyond, and everywhere I look, kitchens seem to be positively humming with sleek Continental panache. Closer to home, NYC&G and its sister publication CTC&G were delighted to help celebrate the November grand opening of Westchester County’s IRP Designs for Kitchen & Bath, a full-service one-stop shop serving New York and Connecticut. The brainchild of Federico Martin, along with Roger Dean of Rye Ridge Tile, it promises to provide a seamless integration of every aspect of the design process, from project conception to completion. The giant Port Chester showroom, flanked by a fleet of Ferraris and festooned with Baccarat chandeliers, glittered with the latest sleek Italian kitchens, and designers Nancy Ruddy and John Cetra of CetraRuddy Architecture unveiled their new Inspira kitchens while the polyglot attendees cheered. It’s going to be a great 2016!
