Lately I have been struck by the realization that travelling really isn’t what it used to be. I know, I know, we have all been saying this for years, but it really isn’t! And countless hours spent acquiring credentials such as Global Entry and TSA Pre only magnify the horror of it all.

So I was interested to see that 17 percent of you, dear readers, own private jets or have fractional jet ownership. This is just in from our latest C&G Readership Survey, which goes on to reveal that 38 percent of you would consider buying fractional jet ownership in the coming year.

While we are on the subject of going places, 70 percent of you will take two or more trips next year and rate cultural experience the most important aspect for you, followed by relaxation.

While three quarters of you own two or more cars, almost half of you plan to buy or lease a car this year, and the number-one choice is a BMW followed by Audi, Mercedes and Land Rover.

You are all enthusiastic buyers of fine jewelry and watches from Tiffany, Cartier, Lux Bond & Green and Mitchells. And when it comes to your homes, you are delighted to get ideas on kitchen renovations, followed by bathrooms, living rooms and gardens from the pages of CTC&G.
