Getting Real

Readers and designers are always telling us how much they love the “sense of place” that emanates from the pages of NYC&G and it’s sister titles CTC&G and HC&G, not to mention opportunities to experience our editorial content in “real life.” This summer’s Holiday House Hamptons designer show house, presented by HC&G, was open to the public for nearly five weeks, while coverage of its gorgeous rooms simultaneously appeared in the magazine’s July 15 issue—something no other shelter title has ever achieved.

This month, interior decorator and tea impresario Tracy Stern has invited a group of lucky design-industry friends for cocktails and a tour of her lovely home, which appears on page 84 of this issue of NYC&G. On September 15 at 8:30 a.m., tune into LXTV’s Open House and join NYC&G and HC&G Editor in Chief Kendell Cronstrom as he gives a behind-the-scenes tour of Kris Fuchs’s home in Water Mill, featured in the current issue of HC&G. On September 18, our company’s celebrated Innovation in Design Awards come to New York for the first time. The awards program began eight years ago with CTC&G and has become a tradition in the Hamptons as well, where HC&G just held its third annual festivities. As for NYC&G’s upcoming IDAs, our offices were flooded with entries, and the event is already sold out. Winners will receive custom Baccarat trophies for interior design, architecture, bath design, kitchen design, garden design, and product design, and the fabulous Holly Hunt is the first-ever honoree of NYC&G’s special Innovator Award.

Good design enriches all our lives— whether it appears in our pages, on our website, or at our events. Look for NYC&G’s October issue for coverage of the winning IDA projects and the design-world heavy hitters who were there to cheer them on.
