Winning Ways

The Doris Leslie Blau showroom in the
Interior Design Building on Manhattan’s Upper East Side was the venue for last month’s judging of the fourth MHheadshotannual HC&G Innovation in Design Awards. Editor in Chief Kendell Cronstrom invited Jennifer Mabley and Austin Handler of Mabley Handler Interior Design, architect Alison Spear of Arquitectonica, designer Robert Passal of Robert Passal Interiors and Architectural Design, and designer Matthew Patrick Smyth to choose the finalists and winners in the categories of architecture, interior design, garden design, and kitchen and bath design.

We are eagerly anticipating the results at the awards ceremony, which will be held at Guild Hall in East Hampton on Thursday, August 7, and is sponsored by ABC Stone, Baccarat, HB Luxe, Revco Lighting + Electrical Supply, and Room & Board.

Adding to the excitement will be the presentation of the annual Innovator Award to textile designer Madeline Weinrib, whose work has been featured many times in the pages of HC&G and its sister titles, NYC&G, CTC&G, and SFC&G. An established painter, she designed her first carpet collection in 1997, and her contemporary, yet timeless style has forever changed the way we look at rugs. Madeline is a kind and gracious person as well, and hosted a lovely reception for NYC&G during the fall of its launch year at her beautifully decorated atelier in New York.

So join us at Guild Hall and help celebrate the best in design and those who create it! You can purchase tickets at cottagesgardens.com/hcandgidatickets.
