A Flurry of Fall Fun!
If you’re looking for something to do in San Francisco’s art and design world, look no further than SFC&G-sponsored events. Start on October 16 at the “Take a Seat” exhibit and auction to benefit Helping Heroes at Home presented by the San Francisco Chapter of the International Furnishings and Design Association’s (IFDA) and SFC&G. Leading designers created one-of-a-kind chairs to be auctioned at the Janus et Cie showroom at the San Francisco Design Center. Sister publication NYC&G sponsored this year’s “Take a Seat” in New York, and it was great fun!
If home tours are your thing (and they certainly are mine!), join 1,500 design enthusiasts at the Junior League of San Francisco’s 20th annual Home Tour for a peek at the Marina District’s most sophisticated homes on October 17 and 18.
Between October 18 and January 18, 2015, discover the history and elegance of Houghton Hall, one of England’s grandest country houses, built in the 1720s by Sir Robert Walpole, Britain’s first prime minister, as San Francisco Fine Arts Museum presents “Houghton Hall: Portrait of an English Country House.”
Then, join Alisa Carroll, SFC&G’s editor in chief, at the fabulous San Francisco Fall Antiques Show (October 23–26) for an entertaining and informative Designer Walk Around or as she hosts one of the Cocktail Hour Talks.
