Last May, I wrote about our move into new offices along the river in East Norwalk. A year later, I am surprised to say that not only have we outgrown our space here but also our small offices in Manhattan! Considering the state of the industry during the past several years, we are grateful to be in this position. ■ Over the past year, Connecticut Cottages & Gardens increased it’s community involvement with wonderful new programs—the redo of the Connecticut Governor’s residence, Pink Aid, The Near & Far Aid After Party at Mitchells, and Maison et Objet Redux at JD Staron & Nobilis, to name a few. Upcoming CTC&G-sponsored events include Pequot Library’s Derby Party and Golf Outing, Near & Far Aid House Tour Designer breakfast, Trade Secrets in Sharon and garden tours in Westport and Redding. ■ We have just finished a whirlwind round of launch events for NYC&G. Mitchell Gold and Bob Williams of the eponymous furniture company hosted us at their home 58 stories above Manhattan. Curious Yellow, the first “Rising Star” designer profiled in NYC&G, was revealed at a gala and blogfest at the Lillian August store in Manhattan. At our Westchester event, hosted by Klaff’s, industry professionals viewed the store’s latest products and met our editors D. J. Carey and Kendell Cronstrom. ■ In other news, our website has expanded with the addition of Meaghan Cameron, who has joined us as editor/curator of cottages- gardens.com after six years at readersdigest.com. The site will be more accessible and fun with web-friendly content and partnerships designed to enhance e-commerce. ■ We’ve seen an uptick in subscriptions over the last few months with readers subscribing to all three titles so they don’t miss a thing in any of our markets. Go to cottages-gardens.com to subscribe, and while you are there, get your tickets for the Connecticut Innovation in Design Awards on May 22. See you there!
